Happy New Year!
Last year I chose “Magic” as my guiding word. I thought that my life didn’t turn out to be magical in 2022, but when I reflected upon the year, I realized that it wasn’t magical in the way that I thought it would be, but there was still magic. One thing is that I changed some really limiting habits and beliefs this year, ones that had held me back for years, and that is indeed “Magic”.
This year I am choosing “Abundance”.

There are several reasons for this including:
- I want to be reminded of the abundance that I already have.
- I want to remember to not focus on such things as my “abundance of worries”, and instead reframe my life to include the type of abundance I want to have.
- An abundance of words would be fabulous this year, as my writing life took a pause in 2022.
We shall see where the word “Abundance” takes me this year.
What about you? Do you have a guiding word this year? If so, I’d love to hear about it.

My word is Consistency. My goal is to do something writing related every day. It could be writing or editing or watching a writing related webinar or updating my submissions list. Reviewing my writing practice last year I see I was very active until May when I submitted my manuscript to Harlequin and after that it was sporadic at best. I’m not making any other goals than that because I’m starting a new job and my time to write will be decreased so I don’t want to be too ambitious, otherwise I’ll get discouraged.
That’s a great word. I wonder what other aspects of your life you will become more consistent in too.
I like your word, LInda! I, too, need the reminder not to focus on my abundance of worries, and an abundance of words in 2023 would be very helpful as my writing took a back seat last year! Good luck with your goals and happy, healthy, inspired, productive, writing-successful, abundant 2023!
Thanks, Susanna. Good luck in 2023. May you find your abundance of words!
Great word Linda. May there be an abundance of magical moments in 2023!
Yes!
